Seascapes: A Place to Flourish

We are always so impressed by the team of rockstars here at Seascapes, and we love finding hard workers to foster into team leaders. In the season of Thanksgiving, we wanted to highlight some members of our team who have stepped up into manager and supervisor roles and give them a big shout-out for all of their hard work! We love seeing our employees flourish and grow along with the plants.

Assistant Nursery Manager Jess (left) and Nursery Manager Rob (right) work together to oversee all of the daily nursery operations. They both traveled to Honolulu to accept the Kaua’i Island MVP award on behalf of Seascapes Nursery in June of 2026!

Rob manages all aspects of the nursery and ensures the quality of the plants. From restocking the dirt pile to leading the team in potting projects, the nursery is in tip-top shape!

Jess spearheaded the LFA quarantine and testing protocol, helping to stop the spread in the nursery and around the island, leading to Seascapes receiving recognition from the Mayor and County Council.

Leading By Example

When it comes to the day-to-day operations of the nursery, our managers Rob and Jess lead the team and make sure everything gets done to the Seascapes standard! We encourage our managers to lead by example, and these two go above and beyond to create a workplace that they can take pride in. From being involved in weekly management meetings to brainstorm new ways to optimize nursery operations, to educating employees and customers about the plants that grow in our tropical landscape, Rob and Jess are always eager to learn and share their knowledge and ideas with others.

Rob began at Seascapes back in 2021 after working in the National Tropical Botanical Gardens here on island. His love for plants brought him to Seascapes, but his work ethic and drive made him quickly rise up in the ranks! Rob wanted to learn all sides of the business, from nursery operations and crew operations to grafting, air layering, and operating machinery. As Nursery Manager, you’ll see him out working with the nursery team, doing maintenance and potting plants, running the skid steer and forklift, and walking around with customers, helping them pick out plants and answering any questions they may have. Behind the scenes, he leads the daily morning meetings with the team, oversees product orders, and leads nursery events and trainings.

Jess came to Seascapes in 2022 with a background in horticulture and experience working in nurseries and on farms. Although she started out full-time in the nursery, she quickly got recruited to the sales team. Working with sales, she gradually got more involved with the nursery’s social media, monthly newsletter, and administrative and marketing work. She was first promoted to Sales Lead before being offered the job as Assistant Nursery Manager. You may often see her behind the sales desk, but she’s also organizing our company parties, making sure everyone gets ice cream on their birthday, and finding unique and special products to stock in the nursery. Jess is always looking for new ways to introduce Seascapes to new customers, but she loves seeing our regulars and working alongside landscapers and contractors to help them put together bulk orders and fulfill any specialty orders for plants and products they need.

We’re lucky to have strong managers to lead our team, and seeing them grow into their roles and flourish just goes to show where hard work and dedication can get you!

Uri can be found working hard all around the nursery. He also enjoys attending landscape industry events and trainings, where he gets to network and learn more about the industry.

Mr. Aloha Does It All!

One of the newest members of our management team, you’ve probably seen Uriel greeting customers and helping them shop for the perfect plants. Uri joined Seascapes back in 2025, and his can-do attitude quickly made him a great fit for our sales team. He learned the ropes and worked his way up to Sales Lead, but his skills go far beyond customer service. Uriel runs weekly deliveries, works on maintenance projects around the property, and lends a helping hand on the landscape crew when needed. He always shows up to work with a smile on his face, ready to help anywhere he can. His positive attitude and friendly presence with customers make him a true Mr. Aloha!

The Kids Are Alright!

You may remember our blog from back in 2024, Seascapes Team Aloha, where we first introduced Dylan, Luis, and Moku as “The Kids.” Well, the kids are all grown up, and they have flourished into leading roles here at the nursery!

Luis is now the Crew Lead of our landscape team, and he’s put in countless hours working install jobs, operating machinery, and running deliveries and pickups all over the island. He started out at Seascapes working in the nursery, but he quickly stepped up to take on more responsibility and learn new skills working with the crew. Now, he works right alongside the crew foreman and helps to bring landscape jobs to life! It’s not easy working out on the jobsite all day, but rain or shine, Luis is there to make sure the work gets done.

Moku joined Seascapes not long after Luis, and he has always shown that he’s a dependable worker and willing to lend a helping hand. He was promoted to a Nursery Lead position after the team saw how well he worked with the new people and recognized his potential in a leadership role. Since then, he’s taken on more responsibility around the nursery, helping with maintenance, mowing the property, and taking on special projects. He’s always willing to offer help and step up when coworkers or customers need assistance.

Dylan made her way to Seascapes after a positive experience working in the student garden at her high school. She found her niche growing our veggie starts, and seeing her hard work and commitment, the team approached her about stepping up to a Nursery Lead and Supervisor position. Dylan has excelled in this supervisor role, taking on more responsibility in the nursery and leading her team with daily watering schedules, maintenance tasks, and potting projects. She has truly grown into her role right along with the plants!

We are so thankful to have such a strong and dedicated team of leaders in the nursery and on the landscape crew. Seascapes would not be the amazing place it is to work and shop if not for our hard workers who really care about the quality of their work and the quality of customer service. This Thanksgiving season, we’re especially grateful for everyone’s hard work and commitment. Share some mahaloz with our team the next time you stop in!
